  Every year Alex participates in St.Charles Children's Entrepreneur Fair to sell his products and advertise his business.
Here is how it went in 2022.

French Marigolds  

French Marigolds

There is a lot to love about marigolds:
  1. They REPEL deer, rabbit, aphids, and nematodes.
  2. They flower all summer long, well into the frost.
  3. They will help roses and tomatoes - plant them around your garden!
  4. They are easy care, and draught and heat resistant.
It is an ANNUAL plant and will die in the fall. Plant in FULL SUN at the distance of 8-12 inches between plants. You can deadhead (remove spent flowers) it to stimulate growth of new flowers.
In spite of being called "French" marigolds are native to Mexico and Guatemala.

Red Knight Marigolds

There is a lot to love about red knight marigolds:
  1. They REPEL deer, rabbit, aphids, and nematodes.
  2. Marigolds are frequently planted among vegetable crops to prevent pest and disease problems.
  3. They will help roses and tomatoes - plant them around your garden!
  4. They are easy care, and draught and heat resistant.
It is an ANNUAL plant and will die in the fall. Plant in FULL SUN at the distance of 8-12 inches between plants. You can deadhead (remove spent flowers) it to stimulate growth of new flowers.

Climax Marigolds

There is a lot to love about Climax marigolds:
  1. They are very tall, 3-4 feet!
  2. They REPEL deer, rabbit, aphids, and nematodes.
  3. Flowers are long-lasting, up to 4-5" across and great in a vase..
  4. They are easy care, and draught and heat resistant.
It is an ANNUAL plant and will die in the fall. Plant in FULL SUN at the distance of 8-12 inches between plants. You can deadhead (remove spent flowers) it to stimulate growth of new flowers.

Crackerjack Marigolds  

Crackerjack Marigold

There is a lot to love about Crackerjack marigolds:
  1. The tallest marigolds (3-4 feet) with 4" blooms in tangerine orange, rich gold, and lemony yellow.
  2. Petals are edible with a slightly bitter, citrusy/spice flavor. They make a pretty garnish on rice, salads, or desserts
  3. They REPEL deer, rabbit, aphids, and nematodes.
  4. They flower all summer long, well into the frost.
  5. They are easy care, and draught and heat resistant.

Petite Yellow Marigolds  

Petite Yellow Marigold

There is a lot to love about Petite Yellow marigolds:
  1. This dwarf variety reaches 8 - 10 inches in height. It forms broad tufts. Atop the stems develop large numbers of blooms 2" in diameter.
  2. This marigold has bright yellow flowers that are long-blooming: they flower all summer long, well into the frost.
  3. They REPEL deer, rabbit, aphids, and nematodes.
  4. They are easy care, and draught and heat resistant.

Jaguar Marigold

Here is why we love Jaguar Marigold:
  1. The flower petals are edible!
  2. It is container friendly.
  3. It grows to 12" tall.
  4. They REPEL deer, rabbit, aphids, and nematodes.
It is an ANNUAL plant and will die in the fall.
It is native to Mexico.

Mission Marigold

Here is why we love mission Marigold:
  1. The flower petals are edible!
  2. The richest golden yellow I’ve ever seen in a flower.
  3. They make for a stunning cut bouquet that lasts for days and days.
  4. They REPEL deer, rabbit, aphids, and nematodes.
It is an ANNUAL plant and will die in the fall.
It is native to Mexico.

Mammoth basil  

Mammoth Basil

Here is why we love mammoth basil:
  1. They have big leaves that you can eat!
  2. The leaves are twice as large as other Italian basils with the same great taste.
  3. You can use it on a sandwich, add to your salad, or make a pesto.
  4. It is deer resistant.
It is an ANNUAL plant and will die in the fall.

Dwarf Sunflower Sunspot  

Dwarf Sunflower "Sunspot"

Here is why we love dwarf sunflower:
  1. No room to grow giant sunflowers? Try 'Sunspot' instead for its large flower heads on dwarf, 18"–24" stalks.
  2. It is Ukraine's national flower.
  3. It has huge 10-12" heads full of seeds that birds or people can eat.
  4. Seeds can be roasted and eaten or saved to plant next year.
It is an ANNUAL plant and will die in the fall. It is draught tolerant and likes a lot of sun.

Sunflower Teddy Bear  

Sunflower Teddy Bear

Here is why we love Sunflower Teddy Bear:
  1. This variety is short (2-3 feet) and makes adorable 6" flowers.
  2. Petals and seeds cab be eaten.
  3. Flowers bloom for over 5 weeks.
  4. famous painter Vincent Van Gogh painted these flowers.
It is an ANNUAL plant and will die in the fall. It is draught tolerant and likes a lot of sun.
